Issues Education

All of Frank’s children attended Virginia Beach City Schools. Frank Wagner’s youngest daughter has a learning disability and she recently graduated from Woodrow Wilson Rehabilitation Center. Frank has always been a champion for our public schools, our teachers and for comprehensive, smartly-designed education reform. During the 2013 state legislative session, the General Assembly dramatically reformed the Standards of Learning test schedule for younger students. At the 2014 Special Session of the General Assembly, we had to cut $2.4 Billion from state spending to balance the budget. Importantly, K-12 education was spared any cuts. During the legislative session in Richmond, Frank enjoys meeting with visiting Virginia Beach and Norfolk students.

Frank has supported increased higher education spending for new college and university buildings, updated science labs and supported increasing the number of higher education students that can be enrolled in Virginia’s colleges and universities.   We have an excellent system of higher education in Virginia and as a member of the Virginia Senate Finance Committee Frank Wagner has made it a priority to support education in the Commonwealth.
